“Pawn Stars” patriarch Richard Benjamin Harrison, also known as “The Old Man,” recently died at age 77 because of the Parkinson’s disease. His fans remembered him as a “sometimes grumpy (always loving), often wisecracking and voice of absolute reason,” according to History channel. He was a Navy veteran who opened the Gold & Silver Pawn store in Las Vegas with his son, Rick.

This “Pawn Stars” TV show had its premiere in 2009 featuring Harrisons interacting with customers, who sell or pawn objects that are unusual or have historic value. There were three generations who have worked here. The show is filmed at the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop in downtown Las Vegas. The generation has been followed many years later by Rick’s son Corey.

Harrison also assessed items brought into the shop with a memorable blunt and constructive approach. The shop featured magnets, key chains, coffee mugs, t-shirts with a Gold & Silver Shop sign, etc. One of the most expensive things there was Superbowl rings. Such rare items Elvis Presley UV reactive original art, a comics autographed by ChumLee, a Muhammad Ali/George Foreman signed robe were present in the alley. When the store aired in July 2009, a number of local experts also visited to evaluate these rare, and often strange items.
