“Let’s volt in!” would be the first thing that would come to mind whenever we see the title name or even a photo of Voltes V.  Who can ever forget this classic anime? this was indeed became part of our good childhood memories.

Voltes V is a super robot anime series which first aired in the Philippines from May 1978 until April 1979. We, the Collectors Hive celebrated the 40th Anniversary of Voltes V last February 10, 2018 at McKinley West, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. This was a rare and a marvelous event.

So how long Voltes V was aired? It has gained a massive patronage before that it re-aired several times in 1986, 1999, 2005, and the year 2017. In fact, Voltes V is more popular in the Philippines.

The registered runners received an exclusive and limited edition Voltes V-themed race shirt, race bib, drawstring bag and a finisher medal at the end of the 5-km special themed route. We began at Mc West Boulevard then Le Grand Avenue at 2km, follow through in Chateau Road 1km, next at Bayani Road then Abernida Lawton back to the Mc West Blvd. The runners and collectors were impressed as they saw the gold-plated finisher medal.

We enjoyed the run and the awe-inspiring moments such as watching Ms. Horie Mitsuko (the original singer of the Voltes V opening song) . Her performance gave us goosebumps. Taking into account that the original song was recorded in the late 70’s, her performance more than 40 years later is still impressive. Got a chance to chat with the viral artist Elmer Padilla ( Boy Tsinelas ). That’s not all! we’ve got a chance to own a Voltes V pilot helmet from the man behind life-size Voltes V statues, Mr. Jerry Santos. Lastly, we completed the 5KM run and achieved the finisher medal and added it on our collection portal.
