Do you love eating at fast-food restaurants? Meet Percival Lugue, the man with the world’s largest collection of fast food restaurant toys, as confirmed by the Guinness Book of Records in 2014. Since childhood he already valued the significance of toys by getting serious at it. He envisioned of having a celestial toy world.

When he was a child of three or four, he had this most vivid dream. He climbed on top of a baby cabinet, only to witness such an amazing world of toys, which was like an intersection of the universes created by The Witch and The Wardrobe, Alice in Wonderland created by Lewis Caroll and other similar novels. He even witnessed them talking, singing and moving. This enchanting world got him lost in surreal. He woke up ascending each cabinet to explore all anthropomorphic toys.

At five years old, he already began collecting seriously. He was protective of the toys given to him. That same year, he managed to create a meticulous toy museum which paved way to a wonderful view.

Jim Henson’s characters from the Sesame Street had a major importance to him. He learned a lot from that show. Counting numbers helped him. Traits like humility and gentleness taught him by the gigantic yellow canary model. The grouchy green monster living in a trash can showed him how to recycle. Ernie and Bert even cultured his understanding of the true friendships.

Later on, he collected toys from Rankin and Bass, Warner Brothers, Walt Disney, DC, Marvel, Cartoon Network and more. Back in the 80’s, original toys were expensive to him. He tried cheaper alternative which is the fast-food restaurants. When he worked as graphic designer at Manila Bulletin in 2002, he also found the 2014 Guinness Book of World Records. He met his newest passion – to be a world record.

He then painstakingly collected every single toy accompanied by a corresponding photo and caption, including all its information, and what fast-food restaurant it came from. Exactly at 10,000 toys in November 4, 2014, he received a good news from the adjudicator that he was approved. That day was by far the most exhilarating day of his life. The experience was so ethereal, a dream come true.

Walt Disney once said “If you can dream it, you can do it.” He once dreamed about achieving Guinness World of Records and now stood upon it. He was featured at different magazines, shows and vlogs.
